Sausage-Cheese Quiche

From a young age Lori has always liked to cook.  I was always amazed at what she could do and she was one of my inspirations to enjoy cooking and baking!  Thanks Lori Lynn.

  • pastry for single crust pie
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 sliced yellow onion, sautéed until tender
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 cup breakfast sausage, browned and drained
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon flour

Line pie plate with crust, prick all over with fork. Bake crust in a 450 oven for 10 minutes or till pastry is nearly done (golden). Remove from oven and reduce oven temp to 325.

Meanwhile, mix all ingredients together but the cheese and flour. Toss flour with cheese and add to egg mixture, mixing well. Pour egg mixture into hot pastry shell. Bake in the 325’ oven for 35 to 40 minutes or till a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. If necessary, cover the edge of crust with foil to prevent over-browning. Let stand for 10 minutes.
