Cherry Cake


2 3/4 cup flour

1 3/4 cup sugar

4 tablespoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt


2/3 cup soft shortening

1/3 cup cherry juice

2/3 cup milk

Beat for 2 minutes. Add 5 egg whites. Beat for 2 minutes. Fold in 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 16 cherries cut in 1/8ths. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
