Carmel Fudge Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 package German Chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 package (14oz) caramels
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Stir cake mix, margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, and nuts until well mixed.  Pat one half of the mixture into a greased floured 9×13 inch pan.  Bake at 350 for 6 to 8 minutes.  Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.  Sprinkle chocolate chips on baked mixture, and carefully spread caramel mixture over chocolate chips.   Crumble remaining cake mixture over the top.  Return to oven and bake 20-25 minutes.
