1 lb. ground beef

1 onion (large)

¼ tsp. minced garlic

1 can kidney beans

4 cans tomato sauce

1-2 empty tomato sauce cans of water

2 heaping tsp. cornstarch

2 T. chili powder

1 T. cumin

¼ tsp. pepper

¼ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. garlic

(Colby’s additions: more salt, Lowry’s Seasoning salt, Cayenne Pepper, all “to taste”)


Chop onion.  Brown meat and onion together.  Add all the ingredients EXCEPT the water and cornstarch.  Fill the empty tomato sauce cans with water and pour into a bowl, then add the cornstarch.  When that is mixed together, add it to the chili.  Cook till it boils.  Let simmer at least 30 minutes to help the flavors mix.
